She still currently deals with her depression and most likely will continue throughout her life just like Emily dealt with her depression throughout her life as well. Carrie has been known to stay up all hours of the night talking and writing herself through her depression, just like Emily did all day long writing down her feelings that came out through her depression. Both of these women used writing as an outlet for their depression, except Emily is now famous for her writing, and Carrie is not.

Emily Dickinson was recently spotted leaving her house for the first time in several years. As many people know she has been living the life of a recluse but a recent snowstorm and a nagging sister has dragged her out of the house to go sledding. Innocent bystanders watched in awe as Emily's sledding experience went from good to dangerouswhen she hit a bump and wiped out. Emily was rushed back to her house for medical attention and plans to never leave the comfort of her home again.
